What’s the difference between the residential Chillbaby and commercial Chilldisc solutions?

Chillbaby was designed specifically for home use, and provides a more cost-effective way for homeowners to enjoy our surface cooling technology in the home.

The residential Chillbaby discs are 3 inches, slightly smaller than the commercial discs. Also, the Chilltower included in the residential unit is smaller and requires less room under the bar than our commercial product. The other major difference is that the residential discs do not feature the fiber optic ring of colors around the disc.

Can I install Chillbaby myself?

In most cases, yes, as long as you have basic homeowner “handyman” skills. However, if you have a granite or stone countertop, you will need to have a professional drill the required holes for the discs in your bar. How long does it take to install Chillbaby?

Depending on the length of your surface and the number of stations, you can usually install Chilbaby in 3-4 hours. If you prefer, installation services can be performed by one of our Chilldisc Certified Installers.

How big is the residential Chilltower?

The residential Chilltower is a compact 12" wide, 16” deep, and 24” tall.,Chilltower fits easily under most home bars.

How much does it cost to operate the residential Chilltower?

Not much at all. The residential Chilltower is powered by a standard 20amp, 120v duplex receptacle, common in most homes. Because of the minimal amount of energy required, it costs less to run than a mini-refrigerator. You can certainly afford to be way cool.

Is there a lot of maintenance on the system?

Not at all. There are no coils or freon in this cooling solution — just the circulation of non-toxic bio-degradable fluids that keep Chilldiscs and Chillwells amazingly cold without damage to the environment. This green experience is another unique feature; rarely found in cooling or refrigeration systems.
